Understand how RecruitMyGame uses cookies to power athlete recruiting analytics and platform performance.
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit recruitmygame.com. They keep you signed in, remember the privacy choices you make in the cookie banner, and — only if you opt in — help us measure how the site is used or attribute a signup to a campaign. They are not a second copy of your athlete profile, and they are not sold as a data product.
RecruitMyGame stores your choice in the browser under the key rmg_cookie_consent. Essential cookies stay on because the site cannot keep a session or a secure form without them. Analytics, marketing, and preference cookies stay off until you accept them.
RecruitMyGame uses four cookie groups that match the switches in the cookie banner. You can change the optional groups at any time; essential cookies cannot be turned off because authentication and fraud prevention depend on them.
Essential Cookies (Required)
Required for basic site functionality, security, and user authentication. These cannot be disabled. They keep a login session alive, protect form submissions, and stop the banner from asking again on every page load after you have already chosen.
Performance Cookies (Optional)
Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors move through public pages — which guides are read and where people drop off — so we can fix the product rather than guess. They stay off until you opt in. Withdrawing consent stops new analytics beacons. Separately, Sentry error diagnostics run under our legitimate interests in platform reliability, with default personal information disabled and event data scrubbed before transmission. Sentry Session Replay and browser profiling remain off until you grant analytics consent.
Functional Cookies (Optional)
Preference cookies remember settings you asked us to keep — display choices and similar non-essential state — so the next visit matches the last one. They are not required to use the site, and they are off until you enable them.
Marketing Cookies (Optional)
Marketing cookies measure whether a campaign brought someone to the site and power advertising pixels only after you opt in. They are off by default. Withdrawing marketing consent unmounts those pixels so they stop firing on later page views.
Some vendors we use to run the product set their own cookies. Those cookies follow the same consent groups: authentication stays essential, measurement stays optional, advertising pixels stay off until marketing consent is granted.
